AND it’s Sarah Sweats’ 5 Month Birthday! Talk about perfect timing.

Today, December 17, 2020, marks two hundred days of moving every day - and you know what? I’m not planning on stopping any time soon. Working out daily has become a ritual for me. It’s something I do because taking care of myself is one of my core values. And for me, part of taking care of myself is getting in a workout every day. I love moving my body and working up a sweat. I love the feeling of accomplishment I have knowing how much stronger I am than I was at day one.

Yes, there are some days where I don’t really feel like working out. I don’t spring out of bed each morning ready to go run a marathon. But every day I’ve still found time to take care of myself. Even if that just meant something low-key, like a yoga session. I’ve learned to listen to my body and do what movement it needs. And you know what? Even when I didn’t feel like it, I’ve never regretted a workout. I’ve always, without fail, felt better for having taken the time to get some endorphins flowing!

I completely understand that everyone’s core values are different. Maybe for you, taking care of yourself means making sure you get all the sleep you need! Or getting at least a half hour away from screens during the day! Not everyone has this non-negotiable priority of working out every day like I do; and that’s perfectly fine! I am the only me, after all!

There’s just one more notion I want to leave you with: screw ‘motivation’.
I said it above - I wasn’t motivated every day. I haven’t wanted to workout more than anything the past 200 days. But I did.
But how? Why?
Because it was important to me, and I am worth it!
You are always worth it, and you deserve to do something for yourself each and every day. If you take nothing else away from this little post, please remember that. You are worth it, and you deserve it.

xoxo, Sarah
