What to Wear: Taylor Swift Eras Tour

You can grab this amazing print on etsy!

Whether you were one of the lucky ones to nab tickets to Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour; or you missed out and are planning on hosting a Taylor Eras party instead - you’re going to need something to wear. Never fear; I’ve got you covered. Here are some amazing outfit ideas for each Era.

Taylor’s debut album and debut style definitely says a lot about where she started! Her first album was country, and her sweet, free flowing dresses combined with the ever present cowboy boots definitely shows it!

While still a little country, here is where Taylor starts to let her pop star start to shine. The color of this era is absolutely that iconic purple. Everything is still very sweet and girly, with lots of lace, ruffles, and nude heels.

Okay, I may be outing myself as a not-pure-Swiftie here, but Fearless was when I personally really started liking and listening to Taylor. Going back I do like the two earlier albums as well, but I’ll admit it - I am not a country music person. I spent a good portion of my childhood living in the south, and when that’s the only thing your parents listen to in the car for 13 years… you definitely have had your share of it for a lifetime. But of course - back to the fashion! If Fearless was your favorite album and You Belong With Me spoke to your soul (like it did mine), absolutely opt for the iconic Junior Jewels tee! Or if Love Story was more your tune, modernize the music video look with this corset top!

This is it. Taylor’s pivot to full pop - and the debut of her now iconic red lip. I must say, I’ve loyally had this shade ever since I read in an interview that this is the lipstick she uses! The outfits in the RED era are so classic - and you bet my mom and I will be wearing matching outfits of the 22 Music Video Outfit, including our 22 T-Shirt, Heart Sunglasses , and of course taylor’s red lipstick.

While, let’s be honest, there’s no era of Taylor’s that I don’t love, 1989 has a particular spot in my heart. I loved the matching sets, the unabashedly girly while simultaneously badass vibes, and the sheer amount of sequins and sparkles! I’ve included some of my favorite tour outfits: the rainbow sequin bomber, the sequin fringe dress, and the white set; but also what I’m personally going to be wearing: Taylor’s cheerleading outfit from Shake It Off. It’s a super simple DIY; everything is on amazon, and the whole look adds up to less than $100!

Reputation’s era has the huge motif of snakes. It’s also her ‘darkest’ album, where there’s very little color in any of her outfits on tour or music videos (save for a pop of red here and there). Taylor constantly rocked the iconic black sequin bodysuit; and I’d honestly rock the medusa bodysuit with these leather shorts for my tour outfit!

The Lover Era turned snakes into butterflies, and went from black and white to pastels, rainbows, & tie dye (always keeping the much loved sequins!) My favorite look is the iconic pink bikini with fuzzy jacket from You Need To Calm Down’s music video.

When I say these albums are exactly what I needed to get me through the pandemic (in a time where I was also planning our wedding), I mean it. There was so much uncertainty in the word (and our wedding plans) that a calming, melodic and almost mournful album was what I needed.
It was just like putting on your favorite warm cardigan, and nuzzling into your couch… since we weren’t allowed anywhere else.

Much like the time in which this album came out, evermore felt just a little more hopeful than folklore - knowing that things have changed, but we will go on. I love that despite the style being just as laid back and folk-y as folklore’s, evermore’s is the perfect compliment.

I am all about this current Midnights era. I love the 70s vibes, and the keeping of Taylor’s love of sequins. There’s so many looks to recreate from the music videos (corduroy & crochet top a la Lavender Haze, or the amazing bodysuit from Bejeweled) - but I’m planning on DIY-ing my outfit: combining this stunning navy dress with iron-on sequin star patches!
