The Cutest & Comfiest Sports Bras

I know what you’re thinking: sports bras? Comfy? Isn’t the entire point of them to smush your ladies to yourself so they don’t bounce or get in the way while exercising? If you were me circa High School, I would’ve agreed. My naive self was of the belief that sports bras are about function, not comfort or fashion. But now my friends, I have seen the light. You CAN (like Liz Lemon) have it all!

So here we are, friends. Today I am sharing my top 3 cutest, comfiest (& sweat tested) sports bras.
All of these precious bras have passed the three most important tests of a sports bra:

  1. Does it hold you in? Can this bra be used for any kind of activity from yoga to cardio to HIIT?

  2. Is it comfortable? Does it provide enough support & stability without squeezing your ribs or having straps cut into your arms?

  3. Is it cute enough for that post-workout selfie?

    And here are the Winners:

In Third Place we have The Aerie Real Me Strappy Sports Bra, displayed in dark blue above.
This little number makes the list because it’s light, comfortable, and your girl loves a longline sports bra - it doubles as a crop top, what’s not to like?!). The strappy back adds to the cute factor, and there’s removable padding if you want to perk up your assets while still keeping them firmly in place. I’ve tested this bra out with running, spinning, and barre; and it’s perfectly at home with any and all workouts! The reason this little lady comes in third is that if you’re wearing it for a prolonged period of time (in the time of work from home, who’s putting on a real bra anyway?) it can start to be a bit uncomfortable around the ribs. This bra is also the least stable of the three, which checks out, seeing as it’s not only the most budget friendly (originally $30, on sale for $12), but aerie’s specialty lies in bralettes, which aren’t exactly known for their massive support.

In Second Place comes The Alo Alosoft Serenity Bra, shown in grey above.
I am not joking when I say this bra is like swaddling your top in a blanket. It’s soft, holds you in, and the strap down the back is cooling and adorable. I removed the padding immediately, as I do with all sports bras (I’m not trying to impress anyone when I’m sweating massively, and if your sports bra is doing its job, I shouldn’t need the cutlets to hold me in place, either), which honestly made it more comfortable! Despite being a company that tailors its product for exercises like yoga, barre, and pilates, this sports bra will also hold up to a long trail run! Honestly, this was my favorite bra before I received bra number one. The only slight negative this bra has is the material is a little thick and not very sweat wicking.

And now here we are. The big one. The feature image for this post. The absolute best sports bra I’ve ever owned:
Athleta’s Warrior Longline Bra
This beauty, pictured in white on both me and the model, is honestly the most comfortable thing to ever grace my chest. If you already own the Alosoft and think that’s comfy, boy do I have some life changing news for you! Their ‘powervita’ (made of nylon & lycra) fabric has a buttery soft feel, and the longline chest band gives you support without the squeeze. It’s moisture wicking, and while it’s suggested as a yoga or studio bra, I’ve worn this for HIIT (read: burpees), aggressive tabata spin classes, and running- and there was never a moment when I didn’t feel supported by this absolutely amazing bra. I know what you’re thinking: okay, so it passes the first two stipulations of being a good sports bra, but does it meet the ever-important third point? Is it cute? To which I respond: are you kidding?! This is the cutest sports bra I own! The proof is in both the model and my pictures above- look! at! it! I have literally nothing negative to say about this sports bra, and if you love your girls and love working out (or just athleisure), you should do yourself a favor and get this bra, stat.

xoxo,
Sarah
