Your Best Hot Girl Summer Wardrobe: Outdoor Voices Athletic Dresses

Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Hot Girl Summer’ may have been released in 2019; but the saying has lived on - and may have even sparked the name for ‘Hot Girl Walks’. Even if it didn’t - the fashion and fitness world have shaken hands to provide you with your best Hot Girl Summer (and Hot Girl Walks) wardrobe: The Exercise Dress.

The first exercise dress dates way back when with tennis, but the modern original exercise dress was made by Outdoor Voices in 2018 (which I’m wearing above in white) and honestly - it’s the ideal summer outfit. It’s perfect for daytime activities to happy hour to date night - is comfortable, washable, breathable, sweat-in-able, and all around livable.

I love how easy it is to go from activity to activity in these versatile garments - and the variety of colors and styles that are now avaialable!

One of my favorite new exercise dresses is the one shoulder dress, which I’ve paired with my trusty birkenstocks here; but would make a great special occasion dress, too. I’m even debating pairing it with some high heels for a beach wedding we’re attending later on in the year because, let’s face it, those built in shorts will come in clutch on that sweaty dance floor!

I love so much about this dress - the fuller support in the top for more high intensity activities; the pockets in the built in shorts (perfect for your phone but big enough to fit tennis balls); the split skirt nodding back to the exercise dress’s roots; and the adorable cut out detail in the back!

I consider myself a very active person (today’s actually my 800th day of exercising every day!), and as someone who is also passionate about fashion - the exercise dress is a match made in heaven.
